About
us
For the English readers I will translate the sites I found most
important.
At this time I am making a site in a new style, and hope it soon
will be completed.

Our home is to be found in the eastern part of Norway,
it is situated about 33 miles from the Swedish border.
There we live, together with our Siberian Huskies.
At the time of this writing, there are seven of these our four-legged
and furry family members.
And one Alaskan Husky.
Our aim besides using our dogs for recreational purposes,
is to participate mid- and long distance races.
Unfortunately, we are in the need of transporting the dogs for training.
- both summer and winter time.
We have three children, all adults who have left their nest.
In addition, we are lucky to be grandparents to Malin,
who will turn five in October, and also to Lukas who was born at
May 16, 2007.
I was born in 1959 and Kjell in 1948.
So it may be said that we are mature persons,
insofar as endured years on Earth is a critierion.
The loss of Ronja in 1997, made the kids and us all very sad.
Our wonderful Newfoundland. Our big, kind and cosy friend.
She had been with us for 12 years, and I cannot remember being angry
at her one single time!
Her hips and shoulders were old and tired. HD + AD.
The medicine did not do her any good anymore.
The realities were very clear. We had to put her to sleep, for her
own sake.
She followed me happily inside the vet’s office. "Nice
to see you again"
We got the most wonderful vet in the world.
She too liked him very much, as she did with all people.
He examined her, and looked at me with a sad expression.
There was nothing more to be said.
I have to say this was one of the saddest times in my life!
I will always remember her with joy.
The faithful Ronja.....
- who looked after the kittens,
- watched over the kids when they were babies and never once
in her life did anything wrong.
This got so in to me, and I decided - there and then - never again.
No more dogs. I did not want to go through this again.
- After a while, you will remember her with joy, and your wish
for
a new dog will come.
In a couple of years, you will visit me with your new puppy, he
said.
Even if his words at the time did not make any sense to me, he was
right.
As he use to be.
A puppy arrives.
In 1999 we got our first Siberian. This happened after skiing in
Gålå mountain.
After a long day of skiing one day during Easter holiday, we met
a man with a ski joring dog. Assisted by his Alaskan Malamute, he
passed us in a brisk pace. We looked at each other and decided -
there and then - that we too would put a dog like that to good use.
Back at home, the search for a genuine polar dog began.
It merits mention that we both has grown up in the company of a
large
number of dogs, dogs of various breeds. Doberman, Collie, several
kinds of huntingdogs, and a New Foundland.
I also have owned several horses, these were race horses and Arabians.
My love for wolves has been part of me since I was a little girl.
After searching the Internet for Alaskan Malamute - like the dog
we met,
we found out that Siberian Husky most likely would be our ideal
type of breed.
It is a smaller and more easygoing dog.
Then we made contact with Rikke Bergendahl by mail, and visited
her at her kennel. A funny part too - we were her first puppy buyers
on the
internet:))
That summer of '99 we picked up Tasha - a beautiful and charming
Siberian she-pup. Our love for this breed started there and then,
which is only natural given the nature of these animals.
The Siberians are friendly and easy-going. At the same time they
are pretty, healthy, and hardworking. To uphold and bring further
these traits is what
we are trying to accomplish with our breeding.
In 1999, we joined the Norwegian Siberian Husky Club.
In our kennel today you will find seven Siberians - and one single
Alaskan whom we fell in love with for some years ago. So when his
former owner sold all of his dogs, he asked us if we would like
to have him.
I could not possibly say "no" to a lovely guy like Tengel.
So you can easily say be are bitten by the "dog rabies bug"
- so to speak!!
Beside dogs, my passion in life is the greatest rock band
ever: Led Zeppelin:)
My husband Kjell is the one who enjoys competing in dog races.
This season 06/07 he has participated in 3 races:
1. Gausdal 50 km, a demanding race, with lots of dry snow up in
the mountain area. This was in 8-dogs, Kjell came in to a fine 15th
(16th) place, total time used 03.47.27. (This was open class and
our one Alaskan was part of the team)
2. Rørosløpet 2x 40 km, 6-dogs nr 2 (2) total time
05.18.45
3. NSHK Vintersamling Femund, 2x50 km 6-dogs nr 3 (5) total time
06.01.23.
We are pretty satisfied with these results - and we look forward
to the next!

Breeding plans 2007
To be able to have a good and bigger team, we are in need of more
dogs.
"Self-done - is well done" they say. Well, I hope so:)

Tasha
was bred to Blackjack`s Jericho Of Jedeye.
Both eyechequed clear (with gonioskopy)

We find Jericho to be a very lovely and friendly dog.

and Kari Hope.
