At the doorstep
- look what happens....
01.09.2007
The puppies are leaving us. One of the females,
Ronja is leaving tomorrow.
Her home will be at an Alaskan Husky kennel.
Mico, one of the males had an accident and sadly broke a leg.
He was jumping out of the dog yard when his hind leg got stocked
in the fence.
Now his is running around, happy as he is, with a huge bandage.
I hope it will heal all right - soon.
Luckily, he is young!
On Monday, one of the males is leaving.
The two pups of Tasha and Jericho looks fine.
17.08.2007
At last, they are moving around. In fact - they are walking.
Because of the rainy and windy weather this last month,
the Tasha puppies are still kept inside.
They are not mobile enough. If they fall out of the doghouse,
I am afraid they have to stay out. Their butts are a bit too heavy
yet. Next weekend, maybe.
Three of Galena’s puppies are spoken for.
We are going to keep one male and one female for our self. It
is a lovely litter. They are fond of people, and always happy.
A humble litter I will say.
04.08.07
The two puppies of Tasha x Jericho are looking like
penguins.
They have all the milk in the world, so they do not have to strive
for it.
7 days and 8, 8 lbs.
Not bad at all?
30.07.2007
We have two litters this year.
Galena
Av Tassibakke x Snowdogs
Mikkel 08.07.2007
- 3 males and two females
Nay-La-Chee`s
Narrow Trail Tasha x Blackjack`s Jericho Of Jedeye
28.07.2007
- one female and one male.
30.05.2007
28/5 NSHK`s Spesciality were held at Finnskogen.
All in all - 68 adults and 6 puppies.
Judge: Robert Sellevik
Nasse and Solan 2.AK
Solan does not like to be held on a leash because
he starts to
cough at once.
This made it difficult for Kjell to coughs him.
The judge liked him, and said he would have given him 1 AK
if he had shown off better.
It's a pity.
Nasse was too big and narrow.
Mikkel did well.
1.JK and 2.JKK
This was Ramona's first show, and she handled her
own dog.
Well done, Ramona:))
Nara got 1.AK. She clearly showed us that this was boring :))
And Tasha was bred to Jericho this weekend.

Ramona and Mikkel - last minute training.
04.05.2007
I picked up Tasha today. She is not really in heat yet.
Hm...something is definitely not right.
We experienced the same with her last year.
Therefore, I guess we just have to wait and see.
29.04.2007
On Friday I put Tasha in the car, for a visit to
Tom Arne and Jericho.
I am certainly not sure if she is in heat at all.
We just have to wait and see what will happen.
Jericho is a nice male. Calm and self-confident.

Jericho in the centre.
A popular male:)

He took time to greet us.
18.04.2007
At last. It seems like Tasha is in heat, and that
gives us 10 days to decide which male to use.
This was not an easy choice. Suddenly there was an American male
coming to Norway. We got eager to ask more about him.
He comes from Jedeye Kennel in USA, and he is eight years old.
The owners are Atle Eikevik, Tom Arne Kristiansen and Kari Hope.
He is staying with Tom Arne.

13.04.2007
The number of dogs is shrinking.
Ludvig has gotten a new home as a family dog. Eik is going to
Atle Eikevik and Tasha has retired herself.
Reo has been unstable this year, but we do hope the next season
will turn out better for him. He uses his energy on so many other
things, like jumping and screaming.
When we are ready to go, he is exhausted.
Tengel is after all an Alaskan, and is not allowed to start in
a pure breed race.
Our team next season will look like this:
Nara
Solan
Nasse
Reo (?)
Mikkel (Ramona starts high school and do not have much time for
him))
Sjakk
........and two new adult dogs will join the kennel.
More about those later on.
12.04.2007
The Easter holiday we spent at our cabin in Gausdal.
Luckily, we had beautiful new snow falling from the sky. At daytime,
it was warm weather. Could at night.
We where aloud to sled wherever we wanted. The dogs are used to
tracks, and get a bit confused without them. A bit sick-sack at
the start, but after a while they got the picture.
Very good. I am impressed.
Ludvig has moved and we miss him:(
To give away a dog you have had since he was born is heartbreaking.
My cheerful comfort is that he has come to a very good home, together
with another young male - who desperately needed company.
Ludvig cried the first night, and did not eat. I did not sleep.
Now he will get the attention he needs.
That he do not deserve!!
Our lovely, cosy polar bear.
Winther Gathering 2007
26.02.2007
As every year we went to the annual happening at
Femund.
The NSHK Winter gathering.
To live together with the comity of sports where
nice.
It was so many interesting people.
In addition, of course you get to know them better
- living under the same roof.
Kjell entered the 2x50 km and came in as no 3.
He was pleased with the dogs. Nasse was not in real
shape, and later on, he got diarea t.
All in all, a pleasant week.

Nara, Sjakk, Reo, Solan, Nasse and Eik.

Rørosløpet 2007
We went to Røros this weekend, to enter the
Rørosløpet and to see
the impressive start of Femundløpet.
What a thril!! So many people and dogs. In addition, what an atmosphere!
Kjell participated in Rørosløpet 40 km with six
dogs.

Second day: Much better.
We are satisfied :)

Weekend trip to our cabin in Gausdal.
Our dogs are not well these days.
Reo seems tired and the other dogs are not in the condition
they were earlier on.
Something is obviously not right, and I do not know what.
Too much training? No, I doubt it.
Maybe the diarea has put them back so enormously.
Well, I guess there will be a visit to the vet.
I hope they will get in shape to Rørosløpet.
10.01.2007
Kjell is attending Rørosløpet 3-4
February.2x4o km 6-dog class.
In lack of snow at Røros, there is a possibility for the
race to be cancelled.
But we hope not, of course. For once, we have had time to prepare
the dogs for racing.
05.01.2007
Kjell attended Gausdal 50 km - an open race near
to Lillehammer.
A demanding race, with lots of dry snow up in the mountain area.
Our 2-year-old male - Sjakk got sick of diarea. He was close to
be put in the sled, but got a bit better after all.
Results
Gausdal 5o km.
We spent the Christmas at the cabin.
New Year's Eve we celebrated on the sled, together with a couple
of friends. The best way to welcome a new year I believe.
Amazing moonlit night, new snow, peace and quiet.
23.12.2006
I have a mailfriend in Tucson, Arizona - USA.
She is a fantastic drawer.
Her heart is beating for animals in distress.
Visit her homepage and take a look.

Merry Christmas from Tucson!
Here somebody, maybe Santa, brought a new Puppy!
The ca six week old male was left in a back pack
at our fence
and survived a night of -4C without any cover,
food or water in the desert,
and when we found him our male dog Cody
wanted to kill him.
The pup really deserved a warm home
after that ordeal.
So now he's already accepted into the pack.
The young wolf-mix, Leika, doesn't have any
quiet time left
because the pup is constantly chewing and wrestling,
It serves her right, though, because she's been just
the same scurge for Cody.
So I guess no more Husky puppies for the next couple of years.
Now it will be interesting to see what kind of dog 'Bilbo'
is going to be.
Just now the coyotes started jipping at our fence
and the adult dogs/wolf answered with a beautiful chorus.
We all love these cold winter nights.
It snowed a little today, but no snow
on the ground down here.
But Tucson has mountains that are more than
10 000 feet (3000 m) high,
so we can see the snow up there,
and it takes us about two hours to get there (windy road).
The dogs are crazy about the snow, of course.
But for Christmas we are going to San Diego
and then San Felipe, Mexico,
where we have a little beach cabin.
The dogs are enthusiastic about the beach.
The husky is the best swimmer.
God jul!
Margarethe

Gathering at Syningen - Gol.
A very pleasent week end, but not so much snow.
Eik`s brothers and sister was there to.
It was nice to see them again:)

Frøya - sister to Eik

Suak - Eik`s brother.

Kjell, Stig and Ramona. Ready to go.

29.09.2006

This Eagle Owl had flown into an electric wire, and had to get
an x-ray to look for damages.
It was poorly and very thin, and not in good shape at all.
Anyway - his saviour said he considered the bird would make it
back to the wild.
18.09.2006
This Alaskan Husky lives with us now, after his
owner quit dogsledding.
His pedigree show bloodlines from Attla, Susan Butcher, Erhardt
and Wright.

To get to know each other, we went to our cabin
for a week.
Just him and me. Long walks in the mountain, and we became best
friends:)
01.06.2006
At last - a Dyck cart!

16.02.2006
A rear site in our area. Snow in the winter. Lots
of it too.

11.02.2006
Another beautiful day in the snow.
This is really an amazing winter!
We have not had so much snow since the year of 1994.

Tasha, Galena, Sjakk and Ludvig.

Sunshine, bonfire and sausages on a stick.
What a day!

On the lake.

Mikkel is doing very well in the harness. Looks
great!
